Privacy policy

BITS Technologies, Lebanon, operates the BITS Lebanon apps and website. Contact: info@bitslebanon.com. This policy explains what we hold about you, and what we hold about the people in the registry — two different things, covered separately below.

1. Information about you

Account. Your name and email address, and your password stored as a one-way hash. We never see your password.

Usage records. Every authenticated request is logged: the endpoint, the action, the search parameters you sent, the number of results, which record you opened, your plan at the time, your IP address, and the app/device string. We keep these for 365 days by default and then delete them automatically. They exist to enforce quotas, investigate abuse, and answer questions about who accessed what.

Purchases. If you buy a subscription, we record the store, the product, the transaction identifiers, the state and the expiry that Apple or Google report to us. We never receive your card details.

Advertising. If you choose to watch a rewarded advertisement, Google AdMob processes your device's advertising identifier. That is Google's processing under its own policy; we receive only a signed confirmation that an ad was watched.

Device. Platform, app version and build, so we can support you and retire unsafe builds.

2. Information about people in the registry

The elector records are derived from the electoral registry published by the Lebanese Ministry of the Interior, which is a public record. They include names, parents' names, date of birth, gender, registry area, religion and sect.

We do not add to this data, and we do not combine it with anything you do in the app. It is presented as a searchable copy of a public record, under the restrictions in the terms of use — in particular, it may not be used to contact, profile or make decisions about anyone.

If you are in the registry and believe an entry is wrong, use the report option on the record, or write to us.

3. Why we process your information

To provide and secure the service, to enforce quotas and detect abuse, to take payment, to answer support requests, and to comply with legal obligations.

4. Who we share it with

Apple and Google, for payments and for advertising as described above. Our hosting provider, which stores the database on our behalf. Nobody else. We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for advertising targeting.

5. How long we keep it

Usage records: 365 days. Account details: until you delete your account. Purchase records: retained after deletion, because they are the record of a transaction — but stripped of anything identifying you.

6. Deleting your account

Settings → Delete account, in the app. It asks for your password, then immediately: revokes every session, destroys the login so it can never be used again, releases your email address so you could register afresh, clears your name and contact details, and cancels your subscription.

Purchase records are kept without you attached to them. Any error reports you filed are kept, anonymously, because they are about the data rather than about you.

7. Your rights

You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Account deletion is immediate and in-app; for anything else write to info@bitslebanon.com and we will respond within 30 days.

8. Children

The service is not intended for anyone under 16, and we do not knowingly create accounts for them.

9. Where your data is

Our servers are in the European Union. Apple and Google process payment and advertising data on their own infrastructure, internationally.

10. Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit. Passwords are hashed. Access to the production database is restricted to named administrators. No system is perfect, and we will tell you if a breach affects you.

11. Changes

We publish a new version when this policy changes, with its date and version shown at the top.
