Deleting your BITS Lebanon account
08/18/2026 · v1.0
This page explains how to delete your BITS Lebanon account and what happens to your data when you do.
Deleting your account from the app
- Open BITS Lebanon and sign in.
- Open the menu and tap Settings.
- Tap Delete account.
- Enter your password to confirm.
Deletion takes effect immediately. You are signed out on every device and cannot sign in again.
If you cannot sign in, or have removed the app
Email data@bitslebanon.com from the address on the account and ask us to delete it. We will confirm by reply.
Deleting some of your data without closing your account
Email data@bitslebanon.com and tell us what you would like removed — for example your profile picture, your phone number, or your search history. Your account stays open.
What is deleted
- Your login and password.
- Your name, email address, phone number and any address.
- Your profile picture.
- Every active session and access token.
What is kept, and why
- Purchase records — the record of a payment, retained for accounting. It no longer identifies you.
- Corrections you reported — kept, but detached from you. A report that a registry record is wrong is about the data, and losing it because the reporter left would mean losing the defect.
- A one-way hash of your email address — kept indefinitely. It cannot be read back into your address. We keep it so the same address cannot be registered again, which is what makes deletion final rather than a reset.
The electoral registry is not your data
The registry records shown in the app come from the register published by the Lebanese Ministry of the Interior. They are a public record about third parties, not information collected from you, and deleting your account does not change them. If a registry record is wrong, report it from inside the app or email us.
